Broad Plain Garden Centre, Bristol
This new garden centre was built on a derelict brown field site, adjacent to a Grade II listed warehouse.
The works involved the careful demolition of a public house to retain the street elevation and the construction of a new boundary wall with brick piers and glass arched panels to enclose the garden centre.
The arched theme of the windows reflected the style of the adjoining Victorian warehouse building. Inside the walled enclosure two large steel frame canopies provide cover over the plants with open sides.
Full design and project management services were provided together with role of CDM Co-ordinator.
